Daimler has come out with a Smart idea (pun indented). In the Germany they are testing a new rental car service called car2go using a fleet of Smart FourTwo cars. The idea is that you can rent a Smart anywhere at any time inside the city limits, no rental car return.

Cerberus is getting setup to dump Chrysler. First the Private equity firm is making a deal with Daimler to buy the remaining stake in Chrysler. Daimler has 19.9-percent of Chrysler and has no interest in taking part in a merger between Chrysler and another automaker.
