It’s reporting today that the Swedish government is set to guarantee a loan for Volvo Cars. “Unlike GM, Ford has clearly stated they will take full ownership responsibility and guarantee capital flows to Volvo Cars until they have found a new owner for Volvo Cars,” Joran Hagglund, Sweden’s state secretary.

Saab is seeking to be self-financed company and filed for reorganization under the Swedish court. They are asking for $1 billion. Saab is working “to create an independent business entity”, where production, design and engineering in Sweden. GM and the Swedish government will continue to help Saab operate as normal during reorganization process.
