With the weakening U.S. dollar and a strong Euro, it brings a dilemma to car manufactures that want to come to the U.S. Alfa Romeo has been trying to get back in and Fiat, who owns Alfa Romeo, is talking about bring the 500 minicar to America. (That’s right, the cute Fiat 500 WILL be coming to the States, just don’t know when.)
Fiat has hinted that production of Alfa Romeo cars could be in Mexico and has confirmed talks are in place with the Detroit 3. Rumor is that it’s in talks with Chrysler. Which is interesting if you think it just closed a deal to bring over Nissan small car and Chery compact cars, so why help Fiat bring over the 500? Well, it might not, Fiat does have existing facilities in South America it could use.
