According to Jalopnik.com, the Polish city of Lodz made street racing legal.
So, if you can’t beat them, join them, which does make sense. If the city of Lubbock would block off an area to race, I’m sure we could cut down on the illegal street racing. Which we have had deaths in the past. Why not start a city owned Lubbock Motoring Club, along with all the other motoring clubs and make street racing legal? How much could it cost to put up a few concrete barriers around the parking lot of the County Fair Park? Or maybe they could repave a few of the roads around MacKenzie Park and make it lots of fun. Pay a small $5 fee, maybe $10, race as many times as you want. Please sign your name here, here and here, after all this is American and we do like to sue. So the biggest expense of having a lawyer draw up paper work to make sure nobody sues the city because some kid took this parents car out and wrecked it. This could work…but if we’re going to have the “you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” attitude, why not start with legalizing marijuana?
