Ford UK gets all the fun. The all new Ford Focus RS in the UK will be a hot hatch with 295-hp and 302-lb ft of torque with a top speed of 155 mph. Even though its 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine is FWD, the engineers say it doesn’t need AWD. It should sprint from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds and 0-100 mph will take 12-ish seconds. All of this fun is for £25,000. I know what you’re thinking, that’s $50,000 U.S. when you do the conversion. But it doesn’t work that way, looking at what a 2008 Ford Focus sedan in the U.S. cost about $18,500, while the same Focus in UK cost about £20,000.
Look for more info to come out at the London Motorshow at the end of the month.
