Auto Express has released the first set of photos of the newest VW MkVI Golf GTI. It will continue to use the current GTI’s turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but with some new tweaks, to produce 207 bhp, up 10 bhp. It will remain mated to either six-speed manual or DSG twin-clutch box. Even though the power has increased, the 0-62 mph stays the same at 7.2 seconds, but the top speed is up 2 mph to 148 mph. As seen on the new Scirocco (which the U.S. will not get), the GTI will come with Adaptive Chassis Control system, which allows the driver to switch suspension and throttle settings between comfort, normal and sport modes. Plus, new XDS electronic limited slip differential will also come to the new GTI. You’ll notice on the outside of the new GTI, a completely new front fascia, vertical foglights set further apart, a roof spoiler, larger rear diffuser and all-new twin exhaust. Plus stronger styling 18-inch alloys, with painted piano black on the inside.
Look for the debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. Also look for high-performance Golf R in the future.
