VW is going to bring more diesels to the U.S. in 2009. Currently they have the hot selling 2009 Jetta TDI, with fuel-economy rating of 29/40 mpg and up next will be the Touareg TDI. This will be in the U.S. in late March with a 3.0L V6 diesel. Next will be the next generation Rabbit (or Golf in the rest of the world), with choice of 2.4L 5-cylinder gas engine or the 2.0L TDI in the fall of 2009. This is the same TDI that’s in the Jetta, so look for about 140 hp and 235 torques (that’s more torque then the current GTI!).
What about TDI in the New Beetle or the new Tiguan?
