After a long wait, the 2011 Lexus LFA supercar has finally been released. For those that haven’t been keeping up with the game, Lexus wants to “…machine engineered to achieve a single goal – to deliver a supreme driving experience”, according to Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi. So what you get is a rear-wheel-drive, mid-front mounted 4.8-liter V10 engine with 552-hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox good for 0-62 is 3.7 seconds and top speed at 202 mph.
The LFA coupe will be built in the Toyota City plant and make just 500, at the rate of 20 units per month “to ensure the finest build quality and attention to detail”. Even the V10 engine will be assembled by a single engineer. This will be an exclusive car, but at $375,000 for a Japanese supercar, it better be! And YES, I will take one!
