Looks like Chrysler LLC is going electric car. By 2010, USA will have electric cars from Chrysler in the form of a sport car, Jeep Wrangler and Chrysler minivan. While the sports car is completely electric, the Jeep and minivan will be on a recharging system, similar to the Chevy Volt.
In other news, Chrysler and Lotus may develop the electric sports car. England’s Lotus Cars Ltd is in talks to produce an electric sports car based on the Lotus Europa. Interesting enough, Tesla Motors Inc. has an electric car based on the Lotus Elise for $109,000. Chrysler is saying “Lotus has a lot of experience with lightweight vehicles and aluminum structures”, “We have experience with propulsion systems.”
