Chrysler has come up with a new gimmick to get you to buy a new Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep. Chrysler is going to help keep the gas price at $3.00/gallon. For the next three years, Chrysler will pay anything above the $3.00/gallon. So how will this work? You register a special gas car that is linked to your Visa or MasterCard. When you fill up with 87 octane, E85 or diesel, the total cost of fill-up is sent to a third party that splits the bill. $2.99/gallon is billed to you on your Visa or MasterCard and rest is charged to Chrysler.
Now for the small print. If your car required premium or mid-grade, then the customer cost goes up 30 cents and 15 cents, respectively. It’s also limited to 12,000 miles per year. So if the car sticker says it gets 25 mpg, you get 480 gallons. How does it know it’s your new Chrysler product you’re filling up? Short answer, it doesn’t, so it can be enjoyed with all the family members.
