I find this somewhat strange in today’s world, Chrysler has canceled its plans to develop a small car with China’s Chery Automobile Co. The executives from both companies cited changes in strategy and external market conditions has changed since signing the agreement in July 2007.
Chrysler and Chery had planned to make a Chery-made vehicle in Mexico and other Latin American countries. Which I’m sure would have made it up to North America market if gas prices would have continued to $5.00/gallon.
Chrysler still has a Chinese venture with Great Wall Motor Co.
