GM reported plans for a rear-wheel-drive Chevy Impala, Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS/STS with the new Zeta platform in 2011. Then Bush pushed for new CAFE standards, and GM went back to better fuel economy FWD. Well, looks like that might not be completely true. Motor Trend is reporting the next Buick Lucerne is going to be smaller and RWD. It will be based off the new Pontiac G8 sedan, which is 7.1 inches shorter than the 2008 Lucerne.
