Owners of Karmann are considering selling company. The German supplier has been having a hard time getting contracts and contracts are coming to the end of their cycle. The 107-year old Osnabrueck, Germany-based company has posted a loss of 16 percent compared to the same time last year. Karmann has been unable to get one of the larger contracts for the convertible roofs, which it seem to be more popular then ever. Karmann has a contract with Mercedes CLK convertibles, but will expire next year.
Karmann is most famous for making the Karmann Ghia, and recently help convert the old Mercedes-Benz SLK to the now defunct Chrysler Crossfire.
