Auto Express has released the first photos of the new Ford Fiesta (in the U.K.). These pictures are not the concept, but the real deal! (Yeah, the color is gross, but work with me) It will come with 1.25 and 1.4-liter duratec gas engines, plus a new 1.6-liter Ti-VCT engines. Being this is a European car only, it will see two diesel engines 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter TDCi. Even though this is the basic, Ford’s starter model, it does come with some luxuries. It comes with Ford’s Converse+ system, which is in the S-Max (U.K.’s Mini-Van) and Mondeo. The Converse+ system controls satellite navigation, trip computer and mobile phone connectivity functions. Look for this to come in both tree and five-door styles. And will make its public debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show, before going on sale in November.
Now, I don’t about the rest of you, but this really pisses me off. Why does the Europeans get the real cool looking cars and we get the boring cars? Have you looked at the Taurus? Have you looked at the Fusion or even the suppose “redesign” Focus? Come Ford, if you spend half the time you spend on your trucks on cars, America might start buying them again. Bring over the new Mondeo, bring us the better looking Focus (especially the Focus 3-door ST with turbocharged 225 bhp). But keep the Ka there, that’s just too small.
But wait maybe it will. After doing some digging, Motor Trend is reporting that the next generation Ford Fiesta will be sold in the States by late 2008. Who knows what Ford is going to do…

**Update: According to autoweek.com, the Fiesta SEDAN will arrive in 2010, while the three-door hatchback coming here remains a possibility. So, they bring the sedan, but not the fun-to-drive three-door. Figures!!!
