File this under, he wants to do what? Roger Penske, as in Penske Racing fame, is considering a bid for Saturn. Penske is currently involved in the auto industry with the Penske Automotive Group dealership chain that distributes the Smart microcars in the U.S. Not saying Penske hasn’t done something like this in the past, he did acquire Detroit Diesel from GM when it was losing money, turned around the heavy-duty engine maker in four years, then sold it to DaimlerChrysler AG.
Maybe this would be a good thing, he’d keep Saturn in the USA. The other group interested in Saturn is Telesto Ventures, which would slowly see the manufacture overseas.
